Powerful copy begins with knowing your "Unique Selling Proposition" (USP). How is your product unique? How does it differ from others in the market? When you are convinced of its uniqueness, you will find it easy to convince others.

Next, you need to work out the format you are going to use for your copywriting. Keep in mind, the format you choose for a display advertisement will naturally differ from that for a classified ad, and both will differ from a press release.

When you are ready to write, start by creating a riveting headline, one that will captivate your audience. Your text should be simple and conversational in a way that your target audience can immediately relate to. Always emphasize benefits, not features. Explain why your product is so beneficial to users. Appeal to the emotions of your readers.

Common objections people raise when buying a new product, service or concept include lack of time, not enough money, "I don't need it", disbelief and "it won't work for me". You need to raze these to the ground in your copy, leaving no grounds for an excuse. You can also create better copy by animating your copywriting by dropping words like "is", "was", "are" and replacing them with phrases that are more active.

Tell your readers something they do not know, and tell them enthusiastically. Hold them spellbound with your copy. Don't worry if it is long - it works to your advantage that way. Tantalize your readers with questions, unfinished sentences, or anything else that will keep them asking for more.

One of the basic tenets of powerful copywriting is to be specific, and avoiding vague statements like "they say". Another is to use magical words like "powerful", "fascinating", and "incredible". These kinds of words go a long way in enhancing your copy. Write enthusiastically - it is contagious! It will definitely show in how your copywriting motivates your readers.

Moreover, write sincerely; never promise something you cannot deliver or lie about your product. This will pay off in the end.

Finally, the last copywriting tenet - review and rewrite repeatedly, until you are happy with the final product. Remember that the actualization of your goals depends largely on your copy.
